Hello!

Life has changed a lot for me in the last six weeks or so. 18 hours of drawing and painting classes a week, plus at least that spent working at home has really changed me as an artist, and as a person.  I've been experimenting with so many things and really discovering what makes me unique and interesting as a person, and an artist.

My teachers have been so extremely enthusiastic, excited and supportive of my work that my life has been been rapidly changing.  They're encouraging me to start making work for shows, and to work as much as I can.  I have never been terrified or excited in my life (or busy).   I feel like I am on the edge of some amazing journey, a journey requiring dedication, bravery and lots and lots of work (and luck).

Here's some of my recent sketches, some of which will be turned into paintings.  My drawings are all ink and pen, and I use no pencils.  I also have a ton of drawings of the nude models in figure drawing, but I think I'll save those of the new art blog.  I draw from life or look at photographs or prints of famous art.

These were all quickly scanned or photographed at home, and I have a lot to learn about these kinds of things.  I just wanted to give you all an idea of what I've been doing lately.  I have probably 50 sketches, drawings or paintings like these so far.

I'm planning on starting a new blog to share a picture of two every day.  That way, I can focus more on my family life here, and my professional life elsewhere. As always, I'm changing, growing and attempting to find that magic balance.
