Do you like my new snazzy banner just for Wednesdays? I also have a new button over to the left that you grab if you're linking up with us!
I started That Kind of Beautiful as a place for curvy/plus-size/big girls to link up and share pictures of their outfits- and their beautiful selves. I began linking up with The Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday about six months ago, and it has done wonders for my self confidence. I spend more time planning my outfits, and I feel better because of it. I've noticed that there are far fewer plus size gals sharing their outfits, and I would love to help change that. It has been so wonderful to see others link up, even non-plus size girls have joined to support the idea that everyone has their own kind of beauty.
If you've ever visited That Kind Of Mom before, you know that I love to have fun with my pictures. I figure, why not put myself out there and do something a little different. Don't forget, I'm currently a full-time art student. I don't really do simple, if you know what I mean.
Speaking of doing things different...I wore a scarf as a headwrap for the first time. Mama likes!
Skirt, tank and belt- Target, White button down-Kohl's, Sandals-Forever 21
The scarf is special to me- My dad brought it back from a trip to France.
I don't mean to look angry in this picture- the camera was dying and we were eager to get to dinner on our date night.
I went a little crazy and mixed stripes and prints, and topped it off with a belt. Cause that's what I do.
The skirt is actually a dress from Forever 21. Striped top and over shirt- Target, belt-Forever 21, heels-vintage
Linking Up:
1. Write a post featuring a picture of you, your outfits or whatever makes you feel beautiful.
2. You don't have to be plus-size to participate, just be supportive of the idea that everyone is their own kind of beautiful.
3. Link up using the Linky Tools below
4. Include a link back to www.thatkindofmom.com in your post or grab one of my buttons
Thank you so much for checking out my pictures and a HUGE thank you to those linking up.
Both outfits are really cute, I love them! The belts make the outfits, I wish I had more belts for my wardrobe! Gotta get on that!
ReplyDeleteYou've mixed up colors and patterns really well! It seems to be a popular trend... I'm going to have to try it when I get brave enough :) and I completely agree with you about WIWW - it's really changed my attitude towards my outfits as well!
ReplyDeleteLaura, the headscarf looks fabulous my dear, thanks for the inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteI so agree with your feelings about WIWW and it's life changing potential!
Looking good! I really want to try that belt over the shirt trick. I think I am waiting for fall so I can try it with a cardi. It looks SO good, but I am too hot to layer.
ReplyDeleteI tried to grab a button for my blog, but I couldn't make it work? I am pretty technically ignorant though, so it may just be me. xoxo
Your stripes and prints with the red pop is great! And I love the scarf, too, and am glad it's special to you! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that head scarf on you! Your outfits and pics look so nice - I have to start taking some "outdoorsy" shots... Mixing patterns is next on my list too like Flor said AND wearing a belt OVER something... I gotta catch up to all you fashionistas!
ReplyDeletei love your red shoes...awesome girl!
