Personalized Pumpkins

30 Days of Thankfulness, Day 3
I am thankful for simple, beautiful things like these personalized pumpkins.  I made pumpkins like this for my kids, and my niece and nephew.  It's super easy and has really good results. Well, I guess it's easy if you're growing your own pumpkins, like both my mom and my mother-in-law do every year.
When your pumpkins are still green and small, take a small, sharp object like an icepick and carve whatever you like into the pumpkin.  The pumpkin will heal over the carved parts, leaving white, raised lines.  Next year I am going to try to carve a more intricate design!

  3. Thanks, girls! It seriously took me 5 minutes, the hard part is growing the pumpkins (which I didn't have to do!)
