So, today I watched Sam for the first time and it was great! It's hard to believe how much I have changed this last year. If you would have told me that I was going to be babysitting for a two year old 3 days a week, I would have thought you were crazy. But here I am, and it was actually really easy! I have learned so much from Morgan and Eric about parenting and have a lot of hands on experience with their adorable boys. So, I actually feel really comfortable around babies and toddlers now. And Sam is a great little boy. He did tackle/bear hug Judah twice during story time at Barnes and Noble, resulting in both of the two little boys falling violently to the ground, but no permanent damage was done and crying was averted. When it was time to go home, Sam got really upset and started crying, but I just scooped him up and told him we would come back another day. When we got back, I made him lunch and then cleaned up after lunch. The we played a rousing game of peek-a-boo around an armchair, and then we played with about 10 different toys in his playroom. He was so sweet and it was so fun to be silly with him! I am so excited about this job! I can't wait to develop a better relationship with the little guy. Already today, when he was playing with the train set at Barnes and Noble, he came over and tugged on my jacket and said "Help" and held up two trains he was trying to connect. It was so precious! And it was hilarious to be driving around in a minivan with a toddler in the car seat, while we counted to 10 over and over again and I sang the alphabet song to him. I loved it. It was so fun and I know that someday I am going to LOVE being a mom. But for now, watching Sam and hanging out with all my friends' kids is great!! Also, I have been so busy lately! It has been just so crazy, but I love it. I don't think it is going to slow down at all until after the holidays. Did I mention that Mark and I have been married for over five months now? Time goes by so quickly. Mark's first six months at work is almost up, and then we'll have full benefits and he'll finally get paid holidays and vacation. Yea!!! We are so excited about everything that is happening for us career-wise, and we are actually totally financially independent for the first time in our lives. And we actually aren't living paycheck to paycheck. It's a very joyful time for us!
