Busy weekend!
This weekend so far has been so good. I had a great time spending parts of Thursday, Friday and Saturday with Morgan and Eric and their sons and my friend Katie and her husband Matt and their son, Sam. On Thursday, we all took a "field trip" to my Dad's carpet store where my dear old Pappy was kind enough to hook them up with a great deal on some carpet remnants to use as area rugs. We all went to mexican food after that and it was, of course, very yummy. On Friday, we went over to Morgan and Eric's and had pizza with the whole clan. Then, Morgan, Katie and I went to a "Purse Party", which was unbelievably cool. All three of us walked away with beautiful purses with Gucci emblazened across the front. Very satisfying. And to top it off, we all went to Coldstone for ice cream. Mark and Eric then went to Peter's bachelor party for a few hours while I hung out with Morgan and the little boys. Mark and I then went home and ended up having a great night, and we stayed up just talking until 3:30 in the morning, which we haven't done for maybe years. There was no TV, no movies...just us sitting and talking. It was unbelievable. I love my husband and I love our friendship and our marriage. He is the perfect husband and God has given me such a sweet gift in him. I love him more and more every day and I'm so happy and content to spend the rest of my life as his wife. Sigh. Okay, onto more weekend activites. This morning, Mark and I attended Judah's 2nd birthday party, which was adorable. It was fire-truck themed and Morgan did a great job with the planning. Mark and I bought Judah A Thomas the Train Engine themed present including a lunchbox and a book that plays songs. And I wrapped it in Thomas colors and bought a Thomas Train Card. I loved it. Shopping for chilluns is the best! Katie's son Sam LOVED the pinata and it was really fun watching him get so much joy from something so simple. Judah was a great guest of honor and was adorable and very quick with the thank-you's. I love this little boy! Judah has made a huge difference in my life, which may seem strange since...well he's two. But, I have learned so much from him (and especially his parents). I was so afraid of children before getting to know Judah. I was terrified of making a mistake or even having to try to make conversation. After watching Morgan and Eric the past year, I just know 100% that I want to be a parent (whenever God decides to bless us with them!) I've seen a lot of the reality of parenting...and I know it's really hard. I know it can be overwhelming and it is a huge job and responsibility. I know your life changes completely. I realize that I don't completely understand what it takes to be a parent, but I know I'm no longer terrified to find out. It just seems amazing. Watching Judah grow and change this last year has been such a joy. He has brought so much love into our lives, and I know Mark and I were supposed to be friends with this wonderful family for a reason. So, thank you Morgan and Eric for allowing us to be such a big part of your lives, and your sons' lives. And we are so proud of your perfect little boy!!
